This open electric launch is ideal for fine weather and lazy cruising with friends. This is a popular boat for two and four people with two cushioned benches one behind the other. The design is somewhat reminiscent of the slipper stern launches so popular with rental companies in the mid nineteen fifties.
Lolly is an updated version of the Scoop, which is our most popular 7 seater launch. Fitted with cushions for enhanced comfort and with tables in the bow too. Bring the family and enjoy some time on the river Thames whatever the weather.
Lolly is fitted with a fixed canopy which is great for keeping out the harsh sun's rays and for protecting from an unpredictable shower. Driven from the stern so the skipper has good visibility and is very much part of the fun.

The Scoop is fitted with folding biminis which are great for keeping out the harsh sun's rays and for protecting from an unpredictable shower. Driven from the stern so the skipper has good visibility and is very much part of the fun.
This Edwardian counter stern replica launch is completely fitted out in wood with wooden decks. The Preterist has tiller steering and a pram hood which covers the skipper and the adjacent seating aft.
Enjoy a pre-dinner cruise or an afternoon on the river following lunch on the dock at The Beetle & Wedge restaurant (booking advised).
The Preterist can currently only be hired with a minimum 24 hours notice and a skipper included (for a minimum of 1 hour).
Sapphire Rose is a smart replica of an early 20th-century beaver stern launch. Originally designed as an electric launch with a low wash hull she is stable and silent. The interior is of varnished mahogany and seating is on cushioned benches with the addition of 4 Lloyd loom chairs. We can add a small table for picnics if required.
This is our one of our most luxurious electric launches and currently is only hired out with a skipper included.
Inspector Morse is our largest electric boat available from Wallingford. This contemporary boat joined our fleet in 2021. She is very stable and is fitted with cushions and a bimini for sun and showers, providing comfort for up to 11 passengers.
Pure Boating offers a number of different self-drive rental boats from our Wallingford, Streatley and our Moulsford base, all of them electric and all of them ideal for blissful river cruising.
All our boats are fitted with trackers, so you have peace of mind when leaving the kiosk area and are out of sight. We can then keep a close eye on your location in case of a problem and also can contact you if we believe you are running behind schedule.
All our boats are easy to drive with no experience required. On arrival, our experienced crew will instruct you on how to operate the boats, and familiarise you with the rules of the river.
Electric boats have very few moving parts. This makes them safe to operate and relatively maintenance free. The batteries are charged up overnight from excess electricity generated by the national grid.
Our electric boats are designed to be safe and easy to drive leading to a stress free boating experience for you and your passengers. The boats run so quietly that they enhance the feeling of being at one with nature. No other boats can surprise the kingfisher mid flight or creep up on a flock of geese.
Electric boats emit no noxious gases or smelly fumes which is not only pleasant for river users, but also helps to keep our rivers clean and pollution free.
